Enough is enough, do it right or walk away.
The fallacy out there is that power belongs to the political class, the ultimate truth is that power is with the people, power to install and to oust.
” The power of the people is much stronger than people in power” ~ Wael Ghonim.

In the wake of political unrest all over the world the people have decided that it’s no longer business as usual, you either work or walk away, and if this is a trend to go by, then oppressive governments all over the world should be worried, citizens are not fools, if they are quite then their silence should not be taken for granted, ‘silence is a thing that should worry even the devil himself’. Revolutions occur when the people begin to have a sense of deprivation, when they develop feelings of discontent, and when they get frustrated, what follows is mass protest movements like yellow vest protest in France, Hong Kong, Bolivia, and the rest. What has been happening all over the world especially Latin America is a clear indication that the people can rise to occasion and show the world that they know what they want and they have the powers to forge their own destiny. Dynasties and personal regimes crumble when people take their anger to the streets, if you are a victim of the people’s wrath then you only have two options, either to run or hide, Eva Morales of Bolivia choose to run, he is now a fugitive in his own country,Batista of Cuba did the same.
The cry of a citizen that is frustrated and discontented, is a cry for political change, and as Robinson and Daron would rightly put it in their book, ‘Why Nations Fail’, all the root cause to problems faced by the people lies deeply on the political wheels, the people are crying of corruption, repression, absence of political rights, unhealthy political environments, economic marginalization, ineffective public service delivery and all these cut across in almost all failed states.

The recent happenings in Sudan, Egypt, Algeria, and other places is a clear indication that numbers actually scares and tears. Torn apart after three decades of prestige and fame is none other than Omar al-Bashir, rendered powerless because the people decided that it’s either their way or no other way. If this is not power then I don’t know what to call it.

Hong Kong, Chile, Lebanon, France Iran, Algeria, Colombia, Bolivia, Ecuador, Iraq, Sudan, Egypt, among others have set precedent for the rest to follow, the only remedy for ailing states especially those on the south, is going to the streets and fight till the end, mass mobilization is the only sure way, and let any leader be reminded never to underestimate what the people are capable of doing, and with all these happenings across and all over the world, tyrants, dictators, unresponsive governments should work ways of putting their houses in order, lest they fall victims and join their counterparts who are on the run.
Karl Marx- These discontented masses need an elite to completely take over ,an elite among them to lead them is what is missing to date.
My take- Even with these elites in charge to guide a revolution. It is not certain that all will go to plan. Remember,John Dalberg-Acton, power corrupts ,absolute powers corrupt absolutely, therefore this little power the elites of the masses will have ,will without doubt lead them to cannaive with the state elites or even by themselves on achieving victory against state elites(Hobbes, naturally human beings want all for themselves, therefore with a little power added on to this selfishness, the inevitable will surely happen) .This will always be the story as we have seen before what our post-independence leaders did to us. I therefore disagree with Marx and would want to refurbish your opinion.
Resolution- If there is going to be any sort of revolution or what you propose, these have to happen:
1)Extinction of the notion of one leader at the top of a pyramid or any organized endeavor like a revolution of the masses.Take an example of the Nordic countries, some of them already have leaders but not one leader running the country.
2)For number one to happen ,there has to be change in the governmental structures as well as the constitution,(and in the case for mass revolution, enlightenment against the notion there has to be one leader who can easily be killed or be distrustful) which have proved to be unchangeable as seen in many countries like Kenya not unless the state elites are favoured in the desired amendments. This is because such ‘disfunctionalities’ that were once vital in independent and post independent times to bring unity have been institutionalized right to the core of current states.
3)It is true that today ,class consciousness is on the heads of the masses ,but what is the plan. If you look closely, masses do not have a plan today . They know that they are oppressed ,they know the oppressors, some get killed while fighting for what is theirs ,and that is just about all is going on. So what is the plan, how is it going to take place, what will be the consequences ,who will do this ,who will do that ,what if this goes wrong ,do we have plan B .Those are some questions that could prove vital in a March towards a successful revolution not haphazard ways like we see today ,masses hopelessly fighting the state/police/military.
